Egypt happens to be the land of foreign gods, idolatry and all sorts of perverseness and ungodliness, Jacob was aware and knew that He had no business with such a nation. However, as a matter of survival, Jacob had to send his children to Egypt to buy food so they could live and not die (Genesis 42:1) because there was famine and drought in the Land of Canaan. As the story will have it, life happened in the quest for survival and Jacob received a royal invitation to come to Egypt. It was a mixed feeling of Joy (Because Joseph his dearly beloved is alive and flourishing) and restraint. Yes! Restraint because Jacob shouldn’t be in Egypt, God told him to stay in Egypt where He would establish him. But God Spoke to him, “Fear Not”, “I will go down to Egypt with you”. Are you in this situation of venturing into territories you feel retrained in your mind, are you in a dilemma, have you been posted to a foreign land, a notorious land, a dreaded land, or a place with a discouraging history, for service to God and humanity?
Jacob prayed to God to inquire about his fate. Have you prayed to God? If Yes,
the same God that spoke to Jacob in the
night vision, will surely go with you and
establish you beyond your imagination. ‘FEAR NOT’.
